Most orders ship within 3–5 business days. Larger or multicolor terrain builds can take a little longer — we'll always give you a time estimate when we confirm your order. Need it fast? Rush orders (1–2 days) are available for a 50% surcharge when our print schedule allows.
Head to the order page and fill out the form. After you submit, email your STL or OBJ file to forgeandfable3d@gmail.com with your name in the subject, or drop a link (Google Drive, MyMiniFactory, Thingiverse) in the notes. We'll review it and send a quote within 24 hours. You only pay once you approve.
Never. Custom orders always start as a free quote. We review your file, assess print time and material, and send you a price. No payment until you say go. Shop items (coins, ready-made pieces) are priced upfront and paid at checkout.
Almost — the one rule is that the file must permit commercial third-party printing. Many designers sell commercial licenses; some don't allow it at all. If you're not sure, send it over and we'll check the license before printing. We won't print anything that violates a creator's terms.
COIN PROPS
Lots of ways! Most DMs use them as loot drops and quest rewards — hand a player a physical Kraken's Seal when they raid a sea temple, or a Dragon Egg when they loot a wyrm's hoard. They also make great inspiration tokens, faction favors ("you've earned the Thieves' Guild's trust — here's their mark"), or condition markers on the battle map. They're the kind of physical detail that makes a moment stick. Some folks just collect them because they look great on a shelf.
Single coins are $2 each, and you save when you bundle: 3 for $5, 5 for $8, or 10 for $15. Mix and match any designs across any themes — the discount applies automatically in your cart based on how many coins you add.
Round coins are printed at roughly half-dollar size (around 30mm) — big enough to show off the detail, small enough to handle and stack like real coins. The square dragon egg and fire dragon coins are a bit larger (35–40mm) since they're more ornate display pieces.
All coins are printed in resin for maximum detail. The default is grey, which is perfect if you plan to paint them. We keep limited stock of red clay and black resin as well — just pick your color in the shop, and we'll confirm availability before printing.
MATERIALS & QUALITY
Resin captures incredibly fine detail — it's what we use for miniatures, coins, and display pieces where crisp features matter. It's a little more brittle, so it's best for pieces that sit on a shelf or the table rather than getting tossed in a bag. PLA (printed on our Bambu FDM) is tougher and better for terrain, large builds, and anything that takes handling. We pick the right material for each job.
Our Bambu printer has an AMS (Automatic Material System) that can print up to 4 filament colors in a single piece — no painting required for base colors. Most print shops only do single-color terrain, so this is something we're genuinely excited to offer. Dungeon tiles, scatter terrain, and props can come ready to play right off the plate.
Right now prints come unpainted — raw resin or PLA, ready for you to prime and paint. Coins default to grey resin which takes paint beautifully, but also looks great as-is. Multicolor terrain comes with its base colors printed in. (A painting service may come down the road!)
We stand behind every print. If something fails because of our equipment or process, or arrives damaged, we'll reprint it at no charge. Just send us a photo and we'll make it right.
SHIPPING & PICKUP
Yes! We're based in Lima, OH and local pickup is available — and actually preferred for fragile resin minis that don't always love the trip through the mail. We'll coordinate a pickup time when your order's ready.
We do. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your order. We package carefully — especially resin pieces — but for very delicate or large orders, local pickup is the safest bet if you're nearby.
Orders over $20 include a free mystery coin from our catalog — a little thank-you for ordering with us. You never know which one you'll get.
